Executive Order 13985, “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities through the Federal Government”
On January 20, 2021, the President issued Executive Order (EO) 13985 which established that the Federal Government should pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all and creating opportunities for the improvement of communities that have been historically underserved. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (Review Commission) is dedicated to advancing equity, civil rights, racial justice, and equal opportunity both within the agency and at all points of interaction with the public it serves. In accordance with E.O. 13985, the Review Commission has established a multi-level Equity Team. This Team will conduct regular equity assessments that address all agency program and activities to ensure the agency maintains and promote equitable outcomes for all individuals who interact with the Review Commission. Aside from the Review Commission’s statutory obligations, equity-as a matter of principle-is essential in all our dealings with the American public.
