Judge Bell joined the Commission in January 2012. Before that, he briefly served as an ALJ at the Social Security Administration. Prior to his appointment as an ALJ, Judge Bell had a distinguished career in the Mine Safety and Health Division of the Labor Department’s Office of the Solicitor.
